Cooking Instructions
Ingredients:
  • Chicken breast or chicken thigh meat, cut into cubes
  • Sesame teriyaki sauce (you can use store-bought or make your own)
  • Soy sauce
  • Mirin (Japanese sweet rice wine)
  • Brown sugar
  • Garlic, minced
  • Ginger, minced
  • Sesame oil
  • Optional: Pineapple chunks, bell peppers, onions, or any other vegetables of your choice for skewering

1. Prepare the marinade:

In a mixing bowl, combine sesame teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger, and a splash of sesame oil. Stir well to ensure the ingredients are thoroughly mixed.

2. Marinate the chicken:

Place the cubed chicken pieces in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are evenly coated. Cover or seal and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or ideally overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.

3. Preheat the grill:

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If you're using wooden skewers, soak them in water for about 30 minutes beforehand to prevent them from burning.

4. Assemble the kabobs:

Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto skewers, alternating with chunks of pineapple, bell peppers, onions, or any other vegetables you're using. Leave a little space between each piece to ensure even cooking.

5. Grill the kabobs:

Place the assembled chicken teriyaki kabobs on the preheated grill. Grill for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, or until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks on all sides.

6. Serve hot:

Once cooked, remove the chicken teriyaki kabobs from the grill and transfer them to a serving platter. Serve hot alongside steamed rice or your favorite side dishes, and enjoy your delicious meal!
